The college belongs to the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration. The form of the college’s ownership is communal.

The history of the pedagogical college dates back to 1939, when a three-year pedagogical school was founded in Sambir, where the training of primary school teachers began. Here are the main milestones in the development of the pedagogical institution, which was 80 years old in 2019:
On October 10, 1939, a pedagogical school was organized in Sambir.
On November 3, 1944, the pedagogical school was transformed into the pedagogical specialized school. On March 15, 1999, the pedagogical specialized school was named after Ivan Fylypchak.
On July 11, 2002, the Sambir Pedagogical Specialized School named after Ivan Filipchak was reorganized into the Sambir State Pedagogical College named after Ivan Fylypchak.
On March 19, 2012, the Sambir State Pedagogical College named after Ivan Filipchak was renamed into the Establishment of the Lviv Regional Council “Sambir Pedagogical College named after Ivan Fylypchak”. On May 19, 2020, the Establishment of the Lviv Regional Council “Sambir Pedagogical College named after Ivan Fylypchak” was renamed into the Establishment of the Lviv Regional Council “Sambir Professional Pedagogical College named after Ivan Fylypchak”.

– Department of Physical Education: main field of study 01 Education / Pedagogy, program subject area 014.11 Secondary Education (Physical Culture);
– Department of Fine Arts: main field of study 01 Education / Pedagogy, program subject area 014.12 Secondary Education (Fine Arts)
There are 10 cyclе commissions in the educational institution: cycle commission of psychological and pedagogical disciplines, cycle commission of philological disciplines, cycle commission of physical and mathematical disciplines, cycle commission of natural sciences, cycle commission of social disciplines, cycle commission of foreign languages, cycle commission of fine arts, cycle commission of physical education, cycle commission of computer disciplines and cycle commission of music disciplines.
635 full-time students study at the college.
Training of specialists in the educational institution is carried out by pedagogical workers.

Over the many years of the college’s existing, more than 10,000 highly qualified teachers have graduated from it. Today, many former students of the college hold high positions in the field of education and science, several dozen are doctors of science.
The College cooperates with the following HEIs of the 3rd and 4th accreditation level: Drohobych State Pedagogical University named after Ivan Franko, Precarpathian University named after Vasyl Stefanyk, Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk, National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, Lviv Academy of Arts, Lviv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
Volodymyr Vantukh, a candidate of Economic Sciences, holds the position of the director of the Pedagogical College now.
